Chancellor Grossman and Center for Policy Analysis Director Michael Goodman to participate in roundtable on region's manufacturing sector
91色情片 Chancellor Divina Grossman and 91色情片 Center for Policy Analysis (CFPA) Director Dr. Michael Goodman will take part in a Manufacturing Roundtable hosted by Congressman Joe Kennedy, tomorrow, Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at 91色情片's Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center (151 Martine Street, Fall River, MA 02723). In addition to Chancellor Grossman and Dr. Goodman, Congressman Kennedy's office has invited area manufacturing companies to take part in the roundtable.
Chancellor Grossman and University officials this week launched UMassDTransform2020 -- the University's new strategic plan, which charts the course of 91色情片's future through four key strategic actions: a focus on the transformative educational experience of students as our highest priority, embracing change that fosters innovative and enriched learning, dynamic and impactful research; and the University continue to enhance reciprocal and enduring partnerships with our community, engaging a diverse community of highly qualified and committed faculty, students, and staff to elicit the best results from the University's resources and infrastructure, and fomenting growth in the areas of environment, health, justices, and arts and culture.
Dr. Michael Goodman recently assumed leadership of the CFPA after serving for the past five years as Associate Professor and Chair of the 91色情片 Department of Public Policy, where he directs the face-to-face and fully online Master of Public Policy program. Professor Goodman is Co-Editor of MassBenchmarks, the journal of the Massachusetts economy published by the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute in collaboration with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. Dr. Goodman also leads the Massachusetts Advanced Manufacturing Regional Partnership Academy, a first-in-the-nation effort providing research, technical assistance, and educational services to regional leaders across the Commonwealth, all supported by a $326,000 grant from MassDevelopment.
Today, 91色情片's involvement in the region's manufacturing sector includes areas such as bioengineering and biomaterials, new technologies in marine science research impacting the fishing industry, renewable energy including wind and water power technologies, marine robotics, and advanced materials and textiles.
