The 98-bed facility was constructed to guard the region against a spring surge

The Southcoast Health COVID-19 surge hospital located in the Tripp Athletic Center at 91É«Ç鯬 has closed. The hospital was built in partnership with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) to safeguard the capacity of the region’s hospitals during the COVID-19 spring surge. No patients were admitted to the hospital.

Southcoast Health and MEMA are currently removing all medical equipment from the site and the entire facility will be professionally cleaned. The cleaning process is expected to finish on June 1, 2020.
