Dr. Carlos A. Almeida is an Associate Professor of Portuguese and the Director of LusoCentro at Bristol Community College, in Fall River, Massachusetts and a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Portuguese at the 91É«Ç鯬. He received a BA from the 91É«Ç鯬 and a MA and PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He specializes in Portuguese and Cabo Verdean languages, literatures and cultures. He is a co-translator of Baltazar Lopes’ Chiquinho: A Novel of Cabo Verde (2019). He is a Board of Director’s Member of the Cape Verdean Association in New Bedford and a Member of the Cape Verdean Committee of the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
