Interior Architecture + Design student recognized as one of the 鈥淭op 100 Design Students鈥 in North America.

91色情片鈥檚 Interior Architecture + Design (IA+D) Program is offered at the College of Visual & Performing Arts (CVPA) and was implemented in 2018 in response to Mount Ida鈥檚 abrupt closure. Led by IA+D Program Coordinator Rose Mary Botti-Salitsky, the program enabled students to transfer all of their credits from Mount Ida to UMassD as well as complete their degree program on schedule. Caroline Gresh, who recently completed the program and graduated with her BS, talks about finding a supportive community at the CVPA and being recognized as one of the 鈥淭op 100 Design Students鈥 in North America by Metropolis Magazine.

Earning her degree from UMassD

鈥淚 didn鈥檛 choose UMassD. UMassD chose me! I only say this because as Mount Ida College closed, my interior architecture + design (IA+D) program was taken in by UMassD with open arms,鈥 says the Ellington, CT native. 鈥淲hen Mount Ida College closed in 2018, I was extremely happy to learn what a great school I was welcomed into and I couldn鈥檛 have asked for a better experience among the chaos.鈥

Choosing the IA+D Program

鈥淚 chose this program because it is so detailed and I knew I would learn everything I need to know to pursue a career in this field. This was the only program in the area that covered such a broad range of subjects, truly setting the students up for success. Not to mention, the faculty and staff are the most personable and welcoming people who will advocate for you at every step. This program, the coursework, and my professors have prepared and helped me to secure many accolades, many of which of course, looks great on a resume.鈥

Becoming a 鈥淭op 100 Design Student鈥

鈥淲hen I was selected by Metropolis Magazine as one of the top graduating interior design students in the country, I was truly grateful. It was an honor to be featured among many talented young designers. I am so proud of everything that I have accomplished, and I couldn鈥檛 have done it without the amazing Interior Architecture and Design program.鈥

Transitioning from college to the real world

鈥淟anding a job just before graduation has been an experience, to say the least, but I am very grateful for how fast it went. I was able to secure a job a couple of weeks before the spring semester ended, thanks to my persistence in submitting job applications as well as the amazing faculty in this program whom I received advice from.鈥 Caroline recently accepted a full-time position as an interior designer at Phaze Zero Design.
